Covered call portfolio tracker

Individual trade maths is easy. Knowing what your whole book is doing — how much capital is committed, how much premium it has produced, and how much of it gets called away this month — is where most trackers give up.

Portfolio-level answers

  • Total capital at work, capped at strike for committed shares
  • Lifetime premium collected across every holding
  • Weighted premium yield and average return if exercised
  • Expiry calendar so nothing sneaks up on you
  • Assignment exposure — which holdings sit above their strike
  • Multi-currency totals for US and ASX positions
  • Trade outcome breakdown: exercised, not exercised, breakeven, losing
  • Holdings view with lifetime premium and breakeven reduction per ticker

Measure the portfolio, not the trade

A single covered call with a 2% monthly yield tells you almost nothing about the account. If half your capital sits in uncovered odd lots, or three of your five holdings are deep in the money and about to be called away, your realised yield will land nowhere near the headline figure.

Portfolio tracking answers the questions that change behaviour: which tickers have actually paid you over their lifetime, which ones you keep writing against at a loss, how concentrated your expiry dates are, and whether premium income is beating simply holding the shares.

Frequently asked questions

What does a covered call portfolio tracker show?
Portfolio-level totals rather than single trades: capital deployed, premium collected to date, weighted premium yield, how many positions expire this week, and which holdings are sitting above their strike and likely to be called away.
Can it handle multiple currencies?
Yes. US and ASX holdings are tracked in their native currency and portfolio value can be viewed in whichever currency you prefer, so an AUD-denominated holding does not distort your USD totals.
How is portfolio value calculated for covered calls?
Value is capped at the strike price for shares already committed to a call, because that is the most you can realise if assigned, and marked at current price when the stock trades below the strike. That gives a realistic figure instead of an optimistic mark.
Can I export my portfolio data?
Yes, Pro accounts can export trade history and receive an automated monthly summary report by email.
